Inconel pipe is a nickel-chromium alloy that has additions of aluminum. Seamless Inconel pipe are oxidation-corrosion-resistant materials well suited for service in extreme environments subjected to pressure and heat. Seamless Inconel pipe is basically a nickel containing alloy which is suitable for extreme temperatures and works against corrosion. It is very similar to the alloys namely Incoloy, Monel and Hastelloy. The composition may be at variance according to the products but all these are largely nickel based products. However, some elements and their percentages do differ. The alloy is used in the production of pipes, pipe fittings, seamless pipe and many others. The Inconel clad pipe is widely used in industries that consist of high temperatures during work. Inconel Pipe Welding Tips
Inconel pipe welding tips are quite a few but the most common of all is known as TIG (tungsten inert gas welding). The thing about ASTM B444 Seamless Pipes is that it is difficult to weld inconel as the welds that are formed from it, tend to crack. Some tips to weld inconel are: Never let it get very hot. Between passes, always let it cool. Always ensure that a close arc length is kept. Use approximately 1/3rd less heat than is used for stainless steel. To obtain good argon shielding, use a cup with as large a diameter as possible.
